Expert Answers about Bike Trailer For Kids

  • Replacement Bike Chariot Option for an Older Rhode Gear Kids Chariot
  • Unfortunately Rhode Gear has been discontinued, for some time now, so their replacement parts are actually not going to be available. Your best bet, which I can imagine is not going to be the most desirable, is an entirely new chariot. Thule makes a really nice one that is very similar to your Rhode Gear Chariot, and if you're interested you can check it out here # TH10101802. This bike trailer is capable of carrying up to 100-lbs, weighs 22-lbs, and will easily fold and store when not in use.

  • Adapter Recommendation for Curt Hanging Bike Rack for Carrying Women and Kids Bikes
  • For womens bikes and kids bikes you really need to use a frame adapter bar like part # UB01 when carrying them on a hanging bike rack. This allows the bikes to hang as level as possible since the bikes will have smaller frames with non-horizontal top tubes. What the adapter does is attach to the seat post and the steering stem to provide a wider and more level bar for the rack to grab. I attached a review video for this adapter for you to check out as well. This adapter would work well...

  • Solution for Needing Replacement Parts for Rhode Gear Bike Rack
  • Your picture didn't make it through, but Rhode Gear has been discontinued for such a long time that we don't have any replacement parts for their racks. Sounds like you need a shank for the rack which I know we won't be able to get. Your best option is to go with a new bike rack like the Curt # C18085, or the 4 bike # S63381 which our customers really like and is priced great.

  • Replacement Hitch Bolt for Bell HitchBiker 4-Bike Bike Rack
  • It sounds like you have the Bell HitchBiker 450. Assuming you are correct and the previous bolt had a 1/2" - 13 thread pitch you can likely use the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock # SR0901 as a replacement. However, I cannot confirm that this fits since it has not been tested. Bike manufacturers use different threads for their hitch pins so it can be difficult to replace them without a direct replacement part. The other option would be to drill out the threads and use an anti-rattle lock like...

  • Replacement Hardware for Curt Trailer Hitch C13146 on 2017 Honda Pilot
  • I'm sorry to hear your vacation was cancelled but we do offer complete replacement hardware for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13146 that fits your 2017 Honda Pilot. To get the hardware, which includes the washers and M14-1.50 bolts, what you will need is the Replacement Hardware Kit for Trailer Hitches # RHK. All you need to do is click # RHK, enter "C13146" in the "Hitch Item Number" box, and select "Curt" from the drop-down menu and you'll get the complete hardware needed for the...

  • Replacement 12" Electric Brake Kit and Mounting Hardware Recommendation
  • For replacement 12" electric brakes I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-6 and the Mounting Bolts and Hardware # BRKH12. This gives you the brakes and hardware for 1 axle so you'll want to multiply that enough for however many axle's worth of brakes you'll be replacing. If you're replacing enough of these brakes we have the kit # ETBRK106A and mounting hardware # BRKH1210 which are the exact same parts mentioned above but it has enough for 10 axles which might work out well...

  • Recommended Trailer Brake Controller and Replacement 7-Way Connector for a 2018 GMC Sierra Van
  • Unfortunately, the lids on the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 are not available for replacement so the best solution is to replace the entire 7-way portion with the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185. As far as recommended or favorite brake controller, I always liked the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller - Dash Knob # RED44FR. Reason being is that this brake controller is small and out of the way, it can be installed in any orientation, and...

  • What Winch Rating is Needed for a 2,500 lb Boat
  • For a wooden bunk trailer the rule of thumb is to go with a winch that has a rating that is at least 50 percent of the weight of the boat. Let's say your boat weighs a total of 2,500 lbs when totally loaded up and counting the weight of the motor. So going with a winch with at least a 1,250 lb capacity would be recommended. The XLT Winch part # F142425 that you referenced has quite a bit more capacity than you would need so it would work very well. It would crank your boat in with ease. I...

  • Will a Brake Controller Activate When Anti-Lock Braking System is Activated
  • If the brake lights of your vehicle are coming on the brake controller will be activating the brakes at the same amount of deceleration that is sensed since the P2 # 90885 is a proportional brake controller. The ABS system of your vehicle is not related to the way the trailer brakes will be applied as that's a totally separate system. The controller only looks for the brake lights to come on and then from there how much deceleration it senses.

  • Availability of Replacement Wheel/Tire and Bike Connection for Thule Stroller
  • I'm guessing you're needing a replacement stroller wheel and the parts used to connect it to the bike, is that right? If you have the Chariot, Cheetah or Cougar stroller, you'd need wheel # TH40102421 or for the Coaster stroller, use # 40192431. The strollers mount to the bike using a skewer mounted bracket like the once you referenced, part # TH20100796. That skewer mount works for the following stroller models: 2011 and newer Cheetah 1-child and 2-child bike trailers 2011 and newer...

  • Best Solution for Carrying Heavier E-Bikes at Rear of Vehicle
  • The bikes would technically fit on the bike carriers of the Malone MicroSport Trailer with Pilot TC ST Aluminum Bike Racks # MPG461KB but the bike carriers would not have the needed capacity for your e-bikes. I also checked all of our roof bike racks and none have a higher capacity than 50 lbs. Which normally isn't an issue as most of the time people aren't wanting to lift a heavier E-bike to the roof of a vehicle. Your most ideal solution will be a hitch mounted bike rack designed for...

  • Replacement Bike Trailer Conversion Kit Parts for Older Thule Chariot Bike Trailer
  • The Bike Trailer Conversion Kit for Thule Child Carrier # TH20100506 can be broken down into 2 different parts; the Axle Mount # TH20100796, and the Hitch Arm Assembly # 40191109. The square part of this arm is 1" square so you'll want to check that against what you have to see if that works.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver And Bike Rack For Winnebago RV
  • We do not have replacement parts for the Summit Promaster bike rack nor do we carry that bike rack. Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer to verify if replacement parts are available. I will make a few recommendations in case you decide to purchase a new bike rack in the near future. If you have a ladder on the back of your Winnebago RV with 1" tubing then you could use Stromberg Carlson Ladder Bike Rack - 2 Bike Carrier # LA-102. This can hold 2 bikes up to 25lbs each. If you...

  • Could Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Bike Rack HR1400Z be Used with Bike Bunk Adapter
  • Assuming you had the clearance needed you could use the Hollywood Racks # HR1400Z on a Stromberg Bike Bunk Adapter # CC-275 but due to how much clearance is normally present on travel trailers you'd most likely be limited to using the bike rack in the 2-bike configuration instead. Also the weight of the rack in the 4 bike configuration would be too much with bikes loaded since the rack weighs 91 lbs as a 4 bike rack.

  • Tire Rubbing Against Sidewall of 2016 Winnebago Winnie WD1780
  • You're exactly right and that's why we recommend no less than 2" clearance between the trailer sidewall/frame and the tires. Since tires are made of a rubber compound they will flex during travel and you don't want your tires making any kid of contact with the trailer or with each other on a tandem axle setup. I have attached some pictures to demonstrate this. My guess is that your dealer did the math for the diameter of the tires but forgot to take into consideration the tire width. This...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2002 Lexus ES 300 for Bike Rack
  • For carrying a bike rack with a trailer hitch a draw bar/ball mount would not be needed. So for your 2002 Lexus EX 300 the Draw Tite hitch part # 36336 would be all that you need aside from the bike rack. The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058. We asked our demo and install guys to name their favorite, most easy-to-use bike racks and this one showed up in nearly everyone's top three. Check out the review video...

  • RV approved bike racks to differentiate between the different styles of RVs. The Swagman XC # S64650 can be used at the back of a motorhome but not at the back of a travel trailer. For a similar bike rack that is rated for use at the rear of a travel trailer with the part # S64663 but the XC is not rated for use at the back of a travel trailer.

  • Replacement Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Pin for Bell Hitchbiker 2 Bike Rack
  • We don't have a confirmed fit for a Bell bike rack. Based on the information your gave, I recommend the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman 2" Hitch Racks # S64027. If you don't want the lock, then you can use # P5901. These pins are 5/8 inches diameter. The bike rack manufacturers all use different threads, but your rack looks very similar to the Swagman Trailhead fixed base rack. if that doesn't fit your rack, you may want to consider drilling out the threaded...

  • Availability Of Replacement Parts To Install Thule Vertex 4-Bike Rack 9029XT In Trailer Hitch
  • I would be happy to help! It sounds like your Thule Vertex 4-Bike Rack TH9029XT is missing either the hitch bolt, or the 2" adapter to have it fit your 2" receiver. If you are needing the hitch bolt I recommend Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 as it is a confirmed fit for your bike rack, and will not only keep your bike rack from rattling in your trailer hitch receiver, but also includes a lock to keep it secured to your hitch. If you are needing the 2" adapter...

  • How to Tow a Camper and Carry Bike Rack on A-Frame of Trailer
  • I have a great solution for you, but the part # D-192 would cut the capacity of your hitch in half so it wouldn't be an ideal solution. Instead I would recommend the Bike Bunk part # CC-275 which will attach to the a-frame of your trailer and then give you a hitch opening for your bike rack. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well. The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this is the Thule Camber 2 part # TH9058. We asked our demo and...
